Los Angeles, CA– The Vida Bella Ensemble announces the Los Angeles premiere of the stage production of The Brown Girls' Chronicles: Latinas, Families, and Resilience at the Chicago Center for the Performing Arts on February 25, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Sponsored by: Fathers & Families Coalition of America for the, 11th Annual National Fatherhood & Families Conference, in Los Angeles, February 23-26, 2010 at the Westin LAX Hotel.
The Brown Girls' Chronicles: Latinas, Families, and Resilience is a collection of the stories, voices and songs that long to be heard; the stories of how race, ethnicity, gender, and colonialism, and immigration shape the lives of marginalized women. Written and directed by Yolanda Nieves, The Brown Girls' Chronicles are the stories of second generation Latinas who in their day-to-day lives are the embodiment of struggle for independence of mind, soul, heart, and body.
