Announcing our new fatherhood affiliate serving the San Francisco and Oakland Bay Area

Mr. Ray Capper, Executive Director of Bay Area Male Involvement Network (BAMIN) will be our new affiiate director. While they will expand the professional foundation of providers in the Bay Area; expand networks and provide services for all practitioners they have a special foundation working with Early Child Educators that will be promoted through this affiliate.

BAMIN’s mission is to support increasing positive male involvement in the lives of children and families.

Strategic Plan –

·         Advocacy – to affect social policy and legislation regarding issues involving men in the lives of children.

·         Impact ECE salaries to increase males in the field

·         Contact legislators when appropriate

• Increase awareness of the benefits of Male Involvement
• Develop workshop/speakers pool
• Update website
• Day of recognition for men who contribute to children’s lives
• Radio/t.v. appearances
• Get on the agendas of trade conferences (ECE)

Programmatic –

•  Curriculum in ECE and psychology/sociology classes
• fatherhood training seminars (soon-to-be fathers)
• parenting seminars
• father involvement workshops
• training for teachers in ECE
• sponsor international conference
• hold annual conference
