Announcing Our New Fathers & Families Affiliate
Serving North Carolina
Ms. Cynthia J. Harris, President of CJH Educational Grants Services, Inc. of the Raleigh-Durham Area in North Carolina is our new affiliate director for North Carolina. Through its Healthy Marriage Demonstration Program grant and with other local nonprofits, the company will expand the professional foundation of fatherhood providers in the following counties: Vance, Halifax, Warren, Edgecombe, and Northampton to expand networks and provide services for all practitioners. The company has special interest in working to build stronger families and encourage active fatherhood in the public school systems, faith-based and community-based agencies.
Mission is to support increasing positive male involvement in the lives of teens and families.
Strategic Plan –
Advocacy – to affect social policy and legislation regarding issues such as establishing positive healthy relationships and involving teen fathers in the lives of children.
Impact through social media campaigns on the benefits of healthy marriage and relationship among families with an active father.
Influence policy through successful programming and promoting awareness dn education among legislators when appropriate
Public Relations –
Increase awareness of the benefits of male involvement - specifically the role of African American fathers in the lives of their children and as husbands
Recognition day for men who contribute to children’s lives.
Strong marketing and media campaign for strengthening families
Membership Development – National and Local
Support members through professional development
System of mentoring new program agencies
Sharing of resources and ideas
Attend national/regional conference
Set annual goal to recruit 10 new member agencies
